Three-stage filtration for rainwater, tank water, and bore water — in a high-capacity 20 inch jumbo format. This triple 20 inch jumbo filter housing set comes pre-fitted with a 20 micron polypleated first stage, a 1 micron polyspun second stage, and a 5 micron carbon block third stage, delivering sediment removal and taste treatment at a maximum flow rate of 150 LPM.

Suited to larger homes on tank, rainwater, or bore water supply where both sediment removal and taste improvement are priorities. The 20 inch jumbo format delivers greater filter capacity and longer cartridge life than a 10 inch set.

Housing arrives assembled with integrated mounting bracket and spanner. Select your bracket or stand option and pressure gauge from the dropdowns.

Note: bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

What's included

Stage 1 — 20PL20, 20 micron polypleated sediment

Catches coarse debris, silt, sand, and larger particles. The pleated design provides a large surface area for high dirt-holding capacity. The 20 inch format holds more sediment than a 10 inch cartridge, reducing the frequency of changes. Cleanable and reusable — rinse between replacements to extend its life.

Stage 2 — 20PP01, 1 micron polyspun sediment

Fine sediment filtration at 1 micron. Removes fine silt, clay particles, and other small suspended matter. At 1 micron, the filter physically blocks Giardia cysts — common in unprotected rainwater and surface water supplies. The 20 inch format provides greater capacity than a 10 inch cartridge. Not reusable — replace when flow drops.

Stage 3 — 20CTO05, 5 micron carbon block

Reduces taste, odour, and colour — particularly relevant for bore water where earthy or mineral tastes are common, and for tank water where organic compounds from the catchment area can affect flavour. The 20 inch format contains more activated carbon for greater adsorptive capacity and longer service life. Not reusable — replace when taste returns or flow drops.

Replace all three cartridges every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. In high-sediment water the Stage 1 pleated filter can be rinsed between replacements to extend its life.

A note on bore water

Bore water quality varies significantly from site to site. Filtration alone may not be sufficient depending on your bore's mineral content, bacterial load, or other characteristics. We recommend having your bore water tested before selecting a filtration system — this ensures the right stages are matched to your actual water quality. Get in touch and we'll help you interpret the results and choose the correct setup.

Why choose this system

  • Three stages — coarse sediment, fine sediment, and taste treatment all in one system
  • 20 inch jumbo format — greater filter capacity and longer cartridge life than Option 3
  • Maximum flow rate of 150 LPM — suited to larger homes with higher demand
  • 1 micron rating physically blocks Giardia cysts
  • Carbon block reduces taste, odour, and colour — addresses earthy or mineral tastes common in tank and bore water
  • Stage 1 is cleanable and reusable — extends time between replacements
  • Quality brass lined 1 inch inlet and outlet — durable and corrosion-resistant
  • Integrated mounting bracket included — optional stainless steel upgrade or freestanding stand
  • Optional pressure gauge — monitor filter life without guessing
  • 2-year warranty on housing

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Option 3 and Option 6?

Both use the same three-stage filter configuration — 20 micron pleated, 1 micron polyspun, and 5 micron carbon block. The difference is housing size. Option 3 uses 10 inch jumbo housings; Option 6 uses 20 inch jumbo housings with a maximum flow rate of 150 LPM. The 20 inch format holds more filter media, giving longer cartridge life and better performance at higher flow rates. Option 6 is the better choice for larger homes or properties with higher daily water demand.

Why three stages?

Each stage targets a different size or type of contaminant. The 20 micron pleated first stage catches larger particles and protects the stages downstream. The 1 micron polyspun second stage removes fine sediment and physically blocks Giardia cysts. The carbon block third stage addresses taste, odour, and colour — particularly relevant for tank and bore water supplies.

Does the 1 micron filter remove Giardia?

At 1 micron, the polyspun filter physically blocks Giardia cysts, which are typically 8–12 microns in size. This is a physical size exclusion — the cysts are too large to pass through the filter media. For complete protection against all waterborne pathogens, a UV treatment stage is recommended in addition to filtration.

Is this suitable for bore water?

It can be, but bore water varies significantly from site to site. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a system — the mineral content, bacterial load, and other characteristics of your bore will determine whether this configuration is appropriate or whether additional stages are needed. Get in touch and we'll help you work through the results.

Can I clean the Stage 1 filter?

Yes — the 20 micron polypleated cartridge is cleanable and reusable. Rinse under a tap when flow drops, and reinstall. Replace when it no longer recovers after cleaning or when it's visibly damaged.

When do I replace the filters?

Every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. In high-sediment water — common after heavy rain or in summer — you may need to replace more frequently. The carbon block's clearest signal is a return of taste and odour rather than pressure drop — replace when taste returns even if flow is still good.

What's the difference between the bracket and stand options?

The standard and stainless steel brackets mount the housings to a wall. The stand is a freestanding combined stand and bracket unit — it doesn't require wall mounting, which suits installations where wall mounting isn't practical.

Should I add a pressure gauge?

A pressure gauge lets you monitor the pressure drop across the filters — when pressure drops noticeably it's a reliable sign the cartridges need replacing. Useful if you want to track filter life without guessing.

Do I need a plumber to install it?

For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path. The set uses standard 25mm BSP fittings and arrives assembled with a housing spanner. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation is straightforward. Get in touch if you're unsure.

What warranty does it come with?

2 years on the housing. Filter cartridges are consumables and don't carry a standard product warranty.
