Remove chlorine from every tap in your home. This twin 20 inch jumbo filter housing set is configured specifically for mains water — pre-fitted with a 5 micron polyspun sediment stage and a 5 micron carbon block that reduces chlorine, taste, and odour throughout your whole house.

The 20 inch jumbo format delivers greater filter capacity and longer cartridge life than a 10 inch set — the better choice for larger homes, higher flow rates, and properties with higher daily water demand.

Two Big Blue housings pre-mounted and delivered fully assembled with spanner. Select your bracket or stand option and pressure gauge from the dropdowns.

Town supply water is treated with chlorine — essential for safe delivery, but once it reaches your home it serves no purpose and affects the taste of everything it touches: drinking water, cooking, coffee, ice. A whole house carbon block filter removes it before it reaches any tap.

Chlorine in your mains water

NZ town water is chlorinated at the treatment plant to kill bacteria and make it safe to drink. By the time it reaches your taps, the chlorine has done its job — but it's still there, and it affects the taste and smell of everything it touches.

  • A chemical taste and smell from the tap
  • The same taste carried through to coffee, tea, and cooking
  • Dryness and irritation when showering

A whole house carbon block filter removes chlorine before it reaches any tap in your home. No chemicals added, no power required — just filtered water at every outlet.

What's included

Stage 1 — 20PP05, 5 micron polyspun sediment

The first line of defence. Catches fine sediment, rust, and particles from the mains supply before they reach the carbon block. Protects the carbon stage and helps it last longer. The 20 inch format holds more sediment than a 10 inch cartridge, reducing the frequency of changes.

Stage 2 — 20CTO05, 5 micron carbon block

The chlorine stage. Activated carbon reduces chlorine, chemical taste, odour, and colour from your mains supply. NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 compliant — independently tested against health and aesthetic effects standards. The 20 inch format contains more activated carbon for greater adsorptive capacity and longer service life.

Replace both cartridges every 6–12 months. The clearest signal for the carbon block is a return of chlorine taste — even if flow rate is still good. Don't wait for pressure drop alone.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the 20 inch over the 10 inch set?

The 20 inch jumbo cartridges contain more filter media — greater sediment holding capacity and more activated carbon. This means longer cartridge life between changes and better performance at higher flow rates. It's the better choice for larger homes, properties with high daily water use, or anyone who wants to extend the time between maintenance.

Why do I need a whole house filter for chlorine — can't I just filter the drinking tap?

You can, and an underbench system is a great option for drinking water. But if you want chlorine removed from every tap — including showers, the laundry, and cooking water — a whole house system is the right choice. It treats everything before the water branches off to individual outlets.

Is this suitable for rainwater or tank water?

No — this set is configured specifically for mains (town) water. The carbon block stage addresses chlorine from treated town supplies. For rainwater or tank water, a system with a pleated first stage is the better fit — get in touch and we'll point you to the right option.

What does NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 mean for the carbon block?

NSF 42 covers aesthetic effects — independently tested for chlorine, taste, and odour reduction. NSF 53 covers health effects — tested for the reduction of specific contaminants. Both certifications confirm the carbon block performs to a verified standard, not just a manufacturer claim.

How often do I replace the filters?

Every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. The clearest signal for the carbon block is a return of chlorine taste — even if flow rate is still good. Replace both cartridges at the same time.

What's the difference between the bracket and stand options?

The standard and stainless steel brackets mount the housings to a wall. The stand is a freestanding combined stand and bracket unit — it doesn't require wall mounting, which suits installations where wall mounting isn't practical.

What is the pressure relief button for?

The pressure relief button (air bleeder) on each housing releases pressure before you unscrew it for a cartridge change. Always press it before opening a housing — it prevents water spraying out and makes cartridge changes cleaner and easier.

Should I add a pressure gauge?

A pressure gauge lets you monitor the pressure drop across the filters — when pressure drops noticeably it's a reliable sign the cartridges need replacing. Useful if you want to track filter life without guessing.

Do I need a plumber to install it?

For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path. The set uses standard 25mm BSP fittings and arrives fully assembled with a housing spanner. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation is straightforward. Get in touch if you're unsure.

What warranty does it come with?

2 years.
