About the Dual Gradient filter

The Pentair Dual Gradient 25-1 is a single cartridge that does the work of two sediment stages. It filters at 25 micron on the outer layer and progressively finer toward the centre, finishing at 1 micron. This makes it well suited to single-housing Big Blue setups where space is limited but thorough sediment reduction is still needed.

How often to replace

Replace cartridges every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. The clearest sign is a drop in water pressure or flow rate. The pleated cartridge (where included) can be rinsed and reused between replacements — replace when it no longer recovers after cleaning.

Which kit do I need?

If your system has a single Big Blue housing, choose BB Kit 1 (10") or BB Kit 4 (20"). For twin housings, choose BB Kit 2 or 5. For triple housings, choose BB Kit 3 or 6. If you're not sure which housing size you have, measure the length of your existing cartridge — 10 inch or 20 inch — and select accordingly.

What is the Dual Gradient 25-1?

It's a Pentair dual gradient sediment cartridge — one filter that transitions from 25 micron on the outside to 1 micron toward the centre. It catches coarser particles first and progressively finer particles as water moves through, combining two stages of sediment filtration in a single cartridge.

Are these genuine Trevoli parts?

Yes — all cartridges except the Dual Gradient are genuine Trevoli. The Dual Gradient 25-1 is Pentair branded, which is the correct specification for Trevoli single-housing Big Blue setups.

Can I replace the cartridges myself?

Yes — Big Blue housings use a standard housing spanner. Shut off the water, unscrew the housing, swap the cartridge, and reinstall. No special tools needed beyond the spanner.

What warranty applies?

Filter cartridges are consumables and don't carry a standard product warranty. If you receive a cartridge that is visibly damaged or defective on arrival, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
