Single-housing UV filtration for rainwater and tank water. This system combines a Big Blue 10 inch jumbo filter housing with a 55W UV chamber to destroy bacteria, viruses, and micro-organisms including E.coli, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacter, and Giardia — without chemicals.

The Pentair Dual Gradient 25-1 cartridge in the filter housing does the work of two sediment stages in one — filtering at 25 micron on the outside and progressively finer toward the centre, finishing at 1 micron. This prepares the water for the UV chamber downstream.

The UV unit uses a Deluxe Countdown Timer Ballast that tracks hours of lamp operation and counts down remaining lamp life — so you always know when the lamp is due for replacement.

Suited to medium homes on rainwater or tank supply. Note: bore water quality varies significantly — we recommend testing your bore water before purchasing to ensure this configuration suits your supply.

Ships as two separate items. Connection fittings are not included — a licensed plumber will need to make the connections between the filter housing and UV unit.

How the system works

Stage 1 — Dual Gradient Sediment Filtration

The Pentair Dual Gradient 25-1 combines two stages of sediment filtration in one cartridge. Water enters at 25 micron on the outer layer and is progressively filtered to 1 micron toward the centre, removing sediment, silt, and fine particles before reaching the UV chamber.

Stage 2 — UV Sterilisation

Water flows through the 55W UV chamber where it is exposed to ultraviolet light, destroying 99.99% of harmful micro-organisms including E.coli, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacter, and Giardia. No chemicals are added.

The Deluxe Countdown Timer Ballast tracks hours of UV lamp operation and counts down the remaining lamp life. When the countdown reaches zero, the lamp needs replacing — regardless of whether it is still glowing. UV output degrades before the lamp visibly fails.

For best results, install cartridge filtration before the UV chamber. The Dual Gradient 25-1 cartridge ensures clear water enters the UV chamber, which is essential for effective UV treatment.

A note on bore water

Bore water quality varies significantly from site to site. Filtration and UV treatment alone may not be sufficient depending on your bore's mineral content, bacterial load, or other characteristics. We recommend having your bore water tested before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you interpret the results and confirm this is the right configuration for your supply.

Why do I need a surge protector?

Does it include connection fittings?

Yes — we recommend a licensed plumber for installation. The filter housing and UV unit need to be plumbed in sequence, and the UV unit must be the last stage before water enters the home. Connection fittings are not included.
