High-capacity twin-lamp UV filtration for large homes on rainwater and tank water. This system combines two Big Blue 10 inch jumbo filter housings with a powerful 110W UV chamber — running two 55W lamps simultaneously — to destroy bacteria, viruses, and micro-organisms including E.coli, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacter, and Giardia at flow rates up to 168 LPM.
Two stages of sediment filtration prepare the water before it reaches the UV chamber. The 110W UV chamber is suited to large homes and high-demand rural properties where higher flow rates are needed without compromising UV dose.
Each of the two 55W lamps has its own ballast — one regular ballast and one Deluxe Countdown Timer Ballast. The Countdown Timer tracks lamp operating hours so you always know when replacement is due.
Suited to large homes on rainwater or tank supply. Note: bore water quality varies significantly — we recommend testing your bore water before purchasing to ensure this configuration suits your supply.
Ships as two separate items. Connection fittings are not included — a licensed plumber will need to make the connections between the filter housings and UV unit.

How the system works
Stage 1 — Coarse Sediment
The 20 micron polypleated cartridge removes larger particles, silt, organic matter, and debris. Cleanable and reusable — rinse between replacements to extend its life.
Stage 2 — Fine Sediment
The 1 micron polyspun cartridge removes fine silt and particles. At 1 micron, the filter physically blocks Giardia cysts. Clear water at this stage is essential for effective UV treatment downstream.
Stage 3 — UV Sterilisation (110W)
Water flows through the 110W UV chamber — powered by two 55W lamps running simultaneously — where it is exposed to ultraviolet light, destroying 99.99% of harmful micro-organisms at flow rates up to 168 LPM. No chemicals are added.
Each lamp is powered by its own ballast. The Deluxe Countdown Timer Ballast tracks hours of lamp operation and counts down remaining lamp life. When the countdown reaches zero, replace both lamps — UV output degrades before the lamp visibly fails.
Important — surge protector recommended
Power surges and cuts can damage the UV ballasts and lamps. Installing a surge protector is strongly recommended to protect the unit — and note that damage caused by power surges may affect the outcome of your warranty claim on the ballasts and lamps. Select the surge protector option in the dropdown to add one to your order.
A note on bore water
Bore water quality varies significantly from site to site. Filtration and UV treatment alone may not be sufficient depending on your bore's mineral content, bacterial load, or other characteristics. We recommend having your bore water tested before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you interpret the results and confirm this is the right configuration for your supply.

Frequently asked questions
What micro-organisms does the UV unit treat?
The 110W UV chamber destroys 99.99% of harmful micro-organisms including E.coli, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacter, and Giardia — without chemicals or additives.
Why does Option 4 use two lamps?
The 110W chamber runs two 55W lamps simultaneously to deliver a higher UV dose at higher flow rates. This makes it suitable for large homes and high-demand applications where a single 55W lamp would not maintain the required UV dose. Each lamp has its own ballast — one regular and one Deluxe Countdown Timer.
When should I replace the lamps?
Replace both lamps when the Countdown Timer Ballast reaches zero — don't wait for a lamp to stop glowing. UV output degrades before the lamp visibly fails. Replace both lamps at the same time to maintain consistent UV dose across both chambers.
What is the council recommended flow rate?
The council recommended UV dose is 40 mJ/cm² — achieved at a maximum flow rate of 66 LPM through this system. For installations where water quality compliance is a priority, keep flow within 66 LPM to maintain this dose level.
Why do I need a surge protector?
Power surges and sudden power cuts can damage the UV ballasts and lamps. A surge protector prevents this. It is strongly recommended — and note that damage caused by power surges may affect the outcome of your warranty claim. Select the surge protector option in the dropdown.
Does it include connection fittings?
No — connection fittings between the filter housings and UV unit are not included. A licensed plumber will need to make these connections.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
Yes — we recommend a licensed plumber for installation. The filter housings and UV unit need to be plumbed in sequence, and the UV unit must be the last stage before water enters the home.
Is this suitable for bore water?
It can be, but bore water varies significantly from site to site. We recommend testing your bore water before ordering — get in touch and we'll help you confirm this is the right configuration for your supply.
What warranty does it come with?
2 years back to base on the system. The UV lamps carry a pro rata warranty. Damage caused by power surges may affect warranty outcomes on the ballasts and lamps — a surge protector is strongly recommended.
