Waimana Waiora III — Whole House Water Filter System

Clean, better-tasting water at every tap — choose the 3-stage configuration that suits your supply.

The Waimana Waiora III is a 3-stage whole house filtration system using triple 10" Jumbo housings, pre-mounted on a powder-coated steel bracket and ready to go on the wall. Available in three configurations — a rainwater setup, a mains water setup, or housings only if you want to supply your own cartridges.

The extra stage over the Waiora II means more thorough treatment — both the Clarity III and Essence III go beyond sediment removal to address taste and odour as well.

Connection fittings are not included. The system uses standard 25mm BSP connections — your plumber can supply the appropriate fittings from any plumbing merchant.

Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

Choose Your Configuration

Waiora Clarity III — Rainwater / Tank Water

For New Zealand homes, baches, and properties on rainwater or tank water where sediment and taste are both a concern. Three stages remove the dust, silt, leaf matter, and the earthy organic tastes and odours that a 2-stage system leaves behind.

Stage 1 — 20 Micron Pleated Sediment Filter

Catches coarser particles first — dirt, debris, leaves, and organic matter from your tank. Starting coarse protects the stages downstream and extends overall cartridge life.

Stage 2 — 1 Micron Polyspun Sediment Filter

Captures fine silt and particles that passed Stage 1. By the time water reaches Stage 3, it's clear and ready for the final treatment.

Stage 3 — 5 Micron Carbon Block Filter

Removes organic tastes and odours — the earthy, musty qualities that sediment filters alone don't address.

Note: The Clarity III removes sediment, particulates, and organic tastes and odours. It does not treat bacteria or micro-organisms. If you want to treat your rainwater for drinking, a UV system installed downstream is the recommended next step. Get in touch and we'll help you put together the right setup.

Waiora Essence III — Mains / Town Water

For New Zealand homes on town (mains) water where chlorine taste, odour, sediment, or heavy metal reduction is a priority. Three stages cover sediment, heavy metals, chlorine, and remaining taste and odour.

Stage 1 — 1 Micron Polyspun Sediment Filter

Traps fine particles, rust flakes, and grit from the mains supply. Protects the filters downstream and helps all three stages last longer.

Stage 2 — KDF/GAC Heavy Metal and Chlorine Filter

Reduces heavy metals and chlorine. KDF media works through a chemical exchange process while the granular activated carbon handles taste and odour compounds.

Note: The KDF/GAC stage is suitable for chlorinated mains water only. It is not suitable for unchlorinated rainwater or tank water supplies.

Stage 3 — 5 Micron Carbon Block Filter

Gives the water a final clean pass — removing any remaining chlorine taste, chemical odours, and fine impurities before it reaches your taps.

Waiora III — Housing Only

Triple 10" Jumbo housings with bracket and hardware, no cartridges included. For those who want to supply their own cartridges, replace existing housings, or build a custom 3-stage setup. Fits standard 10" x 4.5" Jumbo cartridges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which configuration should I choose?

Rainwater or tank water with sediment and taste concerns — choose the Clarity III. Mains water with chlorine, sediment, or heavy metal concerns — choose the Essence III. Want to build your own custom 3-stage setup — choose Housing Only. Not sure? Get in touch and we'll help.

How is the Waiora III different from the Waiora II?

The Waiora II uses twin housings (2 stages). The Waiora III uses triple housings (3 stages) and adds a final treatment stage — a carbon block for the Clarity III (rainwater), or a KDF/GAC stage plus carbon block for the Essence III (mains). If taste and odour are a concern in addition to sediment, the III is the stronger choice.

How is the Clarity III different from the Clarity II?

The Clarity II covers sediment removal across two stages. The Clarity III adds a carbon block as the final stage, which tackles the organic tastes and odours that sediment filters alone don't address. If your tank water smells earthy or tastes flat, the Clarity III is the better fit.

How is the Essence III different from the Essence II?

The Essence II covers sediment and chlorine across two stages. The Essence III adds a KDF/GAC stage in the middle, which targets heavy metals and provides an additional layer of chlorine reduction. If you're on older pipes or want more thorough treatment, the Essence III is the stronger choice.

Does the Clarity III make rainwater safe to drink?

The Clarity III removes sediment, particulates, and organic tastes and odours — it does not treat bacteria or other micro-organisms. For drinking water from rainwater or tank supplies, a UV disinfection system downstream is the recommended next step. Get in touch and we'll help you put together the right setup.

Does it need to be installed before or after my pump?

After the pump — on the outlet side. The Waiora III protects your appliances and fittings downstream. If you need pre-pump protection, get in touch and we can advise on the right setup.

Do I need a plumber to install it?

For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path and protects your warranty on the plumbing side. The Waiora III arrives fully assembled, uses standard 25mm BSP fittings (not included), and mounts with the included hardware. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation itself is straightforward. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.

What connection fittings will I need?

The system uses 25mm BSP connections. Fittings are not included — your plumber can supply the appropriate fittings from any plumbing merchant.

How often do I replace the cartridges?

Every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. For the Clarity III, check the pleated cartridge first — if it's visibly loaded with debris, it's time. Higher sediment or heavy metal loads will shorten cartridge life. Replace sooner if you notice a drop in flow rate.

Do I need bypass valves?

They're not included, but they're worth adding. Bypass valves let you isolate the filter during cartridge changes without shutting off water to the rest of the house. Ask us about adding a set when you order.

Is it suitable for bore water?

Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing before installing. Get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

What warranty does it come with?

3 years.
