The Davey Dynapond is a submersible pond pump designed for continuous 24/7 operation — no need to shut off your water feature to let it rest. An open impeller design with adjustable inlet strainer passes small soft organic solids without blockage, making it well suited to fish ponds, koi ponds, water features, fountains, and freshwater aquaculture.
The motor contains no oil, making it safe for fish and aquatic environments. The organic green UV-resistant thermoplastic casing is designed to be discreet in a pond setting. The pump can be installed vertically or horizontally to suit your setup.
Available in three models — DYNAPOND7000, DYNAPOND8000, and DYNAPOND15000. The DYNAPOND8000 is built with 316 stainless steel components and is suitable for clear sea water. Select your model from the dropdown.
Tested in compliance with AS/NZS 4020. Manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Important: the Dynapond is designed for fully submerged use only. It is not suitable for recirculating or filtering swimming pools or spas — these applications require pumps specifically approved for installations where people are in the water.
Important: do not lower or retrieve the pump by its power lead. Use a rope. Handling the pump by the lead may damage the cable entry seals and create a safety hazard.

How it works
The Dynapond uses a centrifugal open impeller design. Water enters through the adjustable inlet strainer at the base, passes through the impeller, and is discharged through the 1¼" outlet to your pipework or feature. The open impeller tolerates small soft organic material — leaves, algae, fine debris — that a closed impeller might clog on.
The partial double case channels discharge water past the motor shell before it exits, cooling the motor during continuous operation. This is what allows 24/7 duty without overheating.
For deep ponds: use a rope to position and retrieve the pump. Never handle by the power lead — it may damage the cable entry seals.
Suitable for: fish and koi ponds, freshwater aquaculture, water features, fountains, waterfalls. The DYNAPOND8000 is also suited to clear sea water applications.

FAQ
Can I leave it running permanently?
Yes — the Dynapond is designed for continuous 24/7 operation. The partial double case design channels water past the motor for cooling during sustained use. No need to shut the pump off to let it rest.
Is it safe for fish ponds?
Yes. The motor and seal contain no oil, so there is no risk of oil contamination. It is suitable for fish ponds, koi ponds, and freshwater aquaculture.
Can the DYNAPOND8000 be used in a saltwater aquarium or marine pond?
Yes — the DYNAPOND8000 uses 316 stainless steel components and is the only model in the range rated for clear sea water. The 7000 and 15000 use 304 stainless steel and are freshwater only.
Can I use it for my swimming pool?
No. The Dynapond is not approved for installations where people are in the water. Swimming pools and spas require pumps specifically approved for that use.
How deep can I submerge it?
The maximum submergence depth is 3m. It is designed for fully submerged use only — do not operate it out of water.
What does the adjustable strainer do?
The inlet strainer controls the size of particles that can enter the pump. The opening can be adjusted between 5mm (minimum) and 10mm (maximum). Adjust to the smallest opening that maintains your required flow — this protects the pump from larger debris while still allowing small soft organic material to pass.
Can I put it on its side?
Yes — the Dynapond can be installed vertically or horizontally, giving you flexibility in how it sits in the pond.
Does it pass solids?
The open impeller design can pass small soft organic solids up to approximately 10mm OD making up less than 1% of the fluid volume. It is not suitable for hard solids, sand, or grit — abrasive material will accelerate wear.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
Positioning the pump in a pond and connecting to discharge pipework is straightforward for a confident DIY installer. For complex installations involving significant plumbing changes, get a professional involved. Use a rope to position and retrieve the pump — never the power lead.
What warranty applies?
1 year, backed by Davey's NZ dealer network.
