Davey Microlene KAS10AM — Whole House Water Filter for Mains Water
Cleaner, better-tasting water at every tap — in a compact footprint.
The Davey Microlene KAS10AM is a 2-stage whole-house filter kit designed specifically for mains water. It removes sediment in the first stage, then treats taste and odour in the second — so the water reaching your taps is clear and free of the chlorine smell common in town supply.
The kit uses 10" Standard housings. Standard housings are slimmer than Jumbo housings — 236mm wide x 376mm tall — making this kit well suited to tighter installation spaces such as under a kitchen bench, in a small laundry cupboard, or a compact utility area. The trade-off is a lower recommended max flow rate of 15 LPM, limited by the carbon block cartridge. For most households using this system at a single point of entry, this is adequate. If your property has higher flow demands, consider the 10" Jumbo (KAS10JM) or 20" Jumbo (KAS20JM) versions.
Connection fittings are not included. The housings use 20mm (¾") BSP female connections — standard NZ plumbing size.
If you also need UV disinfection, this kit can be paired with the Davey Microlene UV24 — get in touch and we'll advise on the right configuration for your supply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this suitable for mains water only?
Yes. The KAS10AM is configured specifically for mains water — the cartridge combination addresses the sediment, taste, and odour characteristics of town supply. If you're on rainwater, get in touch and we'll recommend the right configuration.
What's the difference between this and the KAS10JM or KAS20JM?
All three use the same mains water cartridge combination. The difference is housing size. The KAS10AM uses Standard (slim) housings — smaller footprint, easier to fit in tight spaces, but a lower max flow rate of 15 LPM. The KAS10JM and KAS20JM use larger Jumbo housings with higher flow capacity and longer cartridge life. If space is your priority, the KAS10AM is the right fit. If flow rate or service interval is your priority, step up to a Jumbo kit.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path and protects your warranty on the plumbing side. The KAS10AM uses standard 20mm (¾") BSP female connections and wall-mounts with the included fixings. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation itself is straightforward. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.
What connection fittings will I need?
The housings have 20mm (¾") BSP female connections. Connection fittings are not included — your plumber can supply these from any plumbing merchant.
How often do I replace the cartridges?
Every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. Replace sooner if you notice a change in taste, odour, or water flow.
Do I need bypass valves?
Bypass valves aren't included and we don't stock them, but we strongly recommend your plumber fit them on either side of the system. They let you isolate the unit for servicing without cutting off your water supply. Any licensed plumber or plumbing merchant can supply and fit them.
Can I add UV disinfection to this system?
Yes. The KAS10AM can be paired with the Davey Microlene UV24 for UV disinfection — max flow when paired is 15 LPM. Get in touch and we'll advise on the right setup.
What warranty comes with it?
1 year on the housings.
