The Davey Microlene MPP is a premium inline replacement cartridge for underbench push-fit filter systems. It uses a two-stage filtration process — first to 10 microns, then to 1 micron — combined with activated carbon and a KDF media layer to reduce chlorine taste and odour, heavy metals, and a wide range of common mains water contaminants.
The KDF layer does two jobs: it reduces heavy metals directly, and it protects the activated carbon from early exhaustion — giving this cartridge a working life of up to 3 years and 30,000 litres, compared to 6 months for a standard carbon filter.
Independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts. Complies with AS/NZS 4348:1995. WaterMark certified.
Designed for mains (town) water supply. Connects via 1/4" push-fit tube connections — the same fittings used by most underbench inline filter systems. Replacement takes a few minutes and requires no tools.
Sold as a single cartridge.

Questions
How is this different from a standard carbon filter?
Standard activated carbon filters typically last 6 months before the carbon becomes exhausted. The MPP adds a KDF media layer, which reduces heavy metals and extends the life of the carbon — giving the cartridge a working life of up to 3 years or 30,000 litres.
How do I know when to replace it?
Replace at 3 years or 30,000 litres — whichever comes first. If taste or odour returns before that point, replace earlier.
Will it fit my system?
The MPP uses 1/4" push-fit tube connections and is designed for inline underbench systems. If your existing system uses 1/4" push-fit fittings, this cartridge is a direct replacement. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll confirm fit before you order.
Is it suitable for bore or tank water?
No — this cartridge is designed for mains (town) water supply only.
Does it remove Cryptosporidium and Giardia?
Yes. The MPP has been independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts. It is tested and complies with AS/NZS 4348:1995.
What does WaterMark certification mean?
WaterMark is an independent certification that the product meets Australian and New Zealand water industry standards. It's required for plumbing products used in residential and commercial water supply in NZ and Australia.
Do I need a plumber to replace it?
No. Replacing the MPP is straightforward — turn off the water, hold the collet, pull the tube out, and push the new cartridge in. Full instructions are included.
