Engineered for advanced sediment reduction, the Pentair Pentek DGD Series cartridges combine coarse and fine filtration in a single high-capacity unit. Manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene, this dual-gradient filter transitions from 25 micron on the outside to 1 micron at the core—capturing larger particles first and then polishing the water as it flows inward. This layered depth structure provides up to three times the dirt holding capacity of traditional spun or string-wound filters, while maintaining excellent flow and pressure consistency.
Suitable for a wide range of residential, commercial, and light industrial systems, the DGD filters are available in both 10" and 20" Jumbo (4.5" OD) formats. Select your preferred height from the dropdown menu based on your system’s volume and flow requirements.
Why Choose Pentair DGD Filters?
Pentair’s dual-gradient design offers staged filtration in a single cartridge, reducing the load on finer layers and extending service life. The high-performance polypropylene media is chemically inert and free from adhesives or binders, ensuring safe and clean filtration without introducing taste, odour, or colour. This makes the DGD range an ideal choice for pre-UV setups, tank water filtration, and protecting pumps or sensitive equipment.
FAQs
What does dual gradient mean?
The filter is coarser on the outside (25 micron) and finer at the core (1 micron), capturing more debris and extending lifespan without compromising flow.
Can I use this before a UV system?
Yes – the 1 micron inner layer makes this an ideal pre-filter to remove fine sediment that can interfere with UV disinfection.
Do these fit Jumbo housings?
They sure do. These are made for 10" or 20" Jumbo housings with a 4.5" outer diameter.
How often should I replace it?
Service life depends on sediment load, but most users get between 6–12 months before a change is needed.
