Genuine vs aftermarket — which should I choose?

Both options are covered by the same 1-year warranty. The genuine lamp is the factory-supplied Trevoli lamp — same as original equipment. The aftermarket lamp is a compatible equivalent at a lower price point, designed to work in Trevoli systems at the same specification.

Some customers prefer the brand certainty of genuine. Some prefer the value of aftermarket. Either way, the warranty is the same.

Which lamp does my system take?

Sentry 102, 103, 202, 203, UV Complete V1, and UV Complete V2 all take the 48W lamp. UV55, UV110, UV165, UV220, and UV330 systems take the 55W lamp. UV Complete V1 systems are rated at 52W but are fitted with the 48W lamp. If you're unsure, check the label on your UV unit or get in touch.

How many lamps does my system need?

The UV55 takes 1 lamp. UV110 takes 2. UV165 takes 3. UV220 takes 4. UV330 takes 6. Sentry and UV Complete systems take 1 lamp each.

How often should I replace the lamp?

Every 12 months, regardless of usage. UV lamps lose output over time — after 12 months the lamp may still glow but may no longer provide reliable UV treatment. Annual replacement is the industry standard for UV disinfection systems.

What's the difference between genuine and aftermarket?

Can I replace the lamp myself?

Yes. Lamp replacement is straightforward — turn off the system, remove the old lamp, and fit the new one. Always refer to your system's manual for specific steps. Handle the lamp with care and avoid touching the glass with bare hands — skin oils can affect UV output.

Do I also need to replace the quartz sleeve?

The quartz sleeve should be cleaned when you replace the lamp. It only needs replacing if it is cracked, cloudy, or damaged. A fouled sleeve reduces UV penetration and treatment effectiveness.

Will this lamp fit other brands of UV system?
