Special offer — both options include a free set of replacement cartridges (1 micron sediment + 5 micron carbon block). While stocks last.
Clean, treated drinking water at your kitchen tap — without paying to filter water that goes to the toilet, garden, or shower.
The Waimana Waiora Pure Mini II is a compact two-stage underbench water filter with 6W UV sterilisation, designed for point-of-use treatment at the kitchen tap. It reduces sediment, chlorine and odour through staged filtration, then treats bacteria, viruses and microbes using UV light — no chemicals, no additives.
There are two options. System Only is the unit, cartridges, UV lamp, quartz sleeve, a short length of tubing and the housing spanner. It suits anyone replacing an existing underbench system, or who already has a drinking-water faucet and take-off valve. Complete System adds everything else needed to connect it — a drinking-water faucet, 2 metres of 6mm food-grade tubing, two take-off valves (15mm and 20mm) so you don't need to know your pipe size before you order, and a surge protector for the UV ballast. Both ship as one parcel.
The UV ballast is flow-activated with a 5-minute delay-off. The UV lamp only runs when water is flowing, which extends lamp life and avoids unnecessary power use. The 5-minute delay keeps the chamber sterilised after the tap is closed.
The Pure Mini II suits mains supply, rainwater tanks and bore water supplies. Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.
Choosing your option
- System Only — the filtration unit with cartridges, lamp, sleeve, short tubing and spanner. Choose this if you're replacing an existing underbench system, or already have a faucet and take-off valve.
- Complete System — everything in System Only, plus a drinking-water faucet, 2m of 6mm food-grade tubing, both a 15mm and a 20mm take-off valve, and a surge protector. Choose this if you're installing from scratch.

How it works
| Stage | What it does |
|---|---|
| Stage 1 — 1 micron sediment filter | Removes fine particles, rust and sediment before the water reaches the carbon stage. |
| Stage 2 — 5 micron carbon block filter | Reduces chlorine, taste and odour for noticeably better-tasting water. |
| Stage 3 — 6W UV sterilisation | Treats bacteria, viruses and microbes using UV light. No chemicals or additives. Flow-activated ballast with 5-minute delay-off. |
UV dosage performance
| UV dose | Flow rate |
|---|---|
| 40 mJ/cm² | 3 L/min |
| 30 mJ/cm² | 5 L/min |
| 16 mJ/cm² | 9 L/min |
For full UV treatment effectiveness, flow should be kept at or below 3 L/min. Flow rate can be managed at the tap.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between System Only and Complete System?
System Only is the filtration unit with its cartridges, UV lamp, quartz sleeve, a short length of tubing and the housing spanner. It does not include a faucet or a take-off valve. Complete System adds a drinking-water faucet, 2 metres of 6mm food-grade tubing, both a 15mm and a 20mm take-off valve, and a surge protector — everything needed to connect the system to your cold-water supply and a dedicated drinking tap. If you're installing from scratch, choose Complete System.
What does the surge protector do?
It sits between the mains socket and the UV ballast, absorbing power spikes before they reach the electronics. It's included with the Complete System.
Is the Pure Mini II right for my home?
It suits anyone who wants treated drinking water at the kitchen tap without filtering the whole house. If you're mainly after better-tasting, UV-treated drinking water, the Pure Mini II does that job efficiently and compactly. If you want treated water at every tap — laundry, bathrooms, outdoor taps — a whole-house system is the better fit.
Does it need to be installed by a plumber?
The system connects via 6mm push-fit fittings to the cold-water supply under the sink and arrives assembled. For anyone confident with this style of plumbing, the install is straightforward. Fitting the faucet on the Complete System option adds a bench or sink drilling step. If you'd prefer to have it done, a plumber can fit it quickly.
What does the UV lamp do?
The 6W UV lamp treats bacteria, viruses and microbes in the water passing through the UV chamber. UV light disrupts the DNA of microorganisms, rendering them unable to replicate. No chemicals are added to the water.
How does the flow-activated ballast work?
The ballast starts the UV lamp when water flow is detected and keeps it running for 5 minutes after the tap is closed. The lamp doesn't run continuously — it operates only when needed, which extends lamp life and reduces power use. The 5-minute delay-off keeps the UV chamber sterilised between uses.
Can I use it with rainwater, tank or bore water?
Yes. Two-stage filtration handles sediment and taste/odour, and the UV stage treats microbial content. Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.
How often do I need to replace the cartridges and UV lamp?
Filter cartridges should be replaced every 6–12 months depending on water quality and usage. The UV lamp should be replaced when the ballast indicates — the ballast monitors lamp output and signals when replacement is due.
Will it fit under my sink?
The unit measures 320 x 140 x 380 mm and is designed for compact underbench installation. It fits under most standard kitchen sinks. If your under-sink space is particularly tight, measure the available depth and height before ordering.
Does it slow down my water flow?
At the rated treatment flow of 3 L/min the system delivers full UV treatment — plenty for filling a glass, kettle or pot without noticeable waiting. The maximum flow rate is 9 L/min, though UV effectiveness reduces at higher flows.
What warranty applies?
The Waimana Waiora Pure Mini II carries a 3-year warranty.
