What it removes

Looking after the UV
- Replace the UV lamp and quartz sleeve every 14 months.
- Change the filter cartridges every 12 months.
- UV needs clear water. The two filter stages remove the sediment that would block the UV light.
- UV can't remove metals, chemicals or algal toxins.

Common questions
What's the difference between the AQS and KAQS models?
The KAQS models add a wall mount cover. It protects the chamber and controller from rain and direct elements for outdoor installs, has holes for a padlock, and lets you change the lamp through the side.
What's the difference between the -S and -XS models?
The -S controller has an LED screen. The -XS controller has an LCD screen. Both show a lamp life countdown, alarm and service codes.
How often do I change the cartridges and the lamp?
Cartridges every 12 months. Change the UV lamp and quartz sleeve every 14 months.
Does the AquaShield remove metals or chemicals?
No. UV can't remove metals, chemicals or algal toxins.

The Davey AquaShield filters and UV-treats water for the whole home on rural and tank supplies. Davey sizes it for up to seven outlets.
Water passes a 20 µm pleated cartridge and a 1 µm polyspun cartridge, then a 45W UV lamp in a 316L stainless chamber. It's rated at 56.8 L/min at 30 mJ/cm², with a maximum pressure of 827 kPa (120 psi). The LED/LCD controller counts down lamp life and alarms when it's due, and the lamp changes without tools. K models add a wall-mount cover.
Change the cartridges every 12 months. Replace the UV lamp and quartz sleeve every 14 months. Manufacturer's warranty: 10 years on the chamber, 3 years on the controller and 12 months on the lamp and housings.
