UV treatment
UV disinfection, UV24 to UV250
Five UV-only units cover 23 to 208 L/min at a 30 mJ/cm² UV dose. No chemicals are added, so the taste, smell and colour of the water don't change.
-
Filter first
Fit at least 20 micron filtration before the UV, and 1 micron where Giardia or Cryptosporidium are a concern. Filters aren't included.
-
Lamp reminder
The UV24 to UV151 controllers have a lamp change reminder. The UV250 alarms if the lamp fails.
-
No chemicals
UV treats micro-organisms without changing the water's taste, smell or colour.

Looking after the UV
- UV24, UV57 and UV80: replace the lamp every 9,000 hours. UV151: every 10,000 hours. UV250: once a year.
- UV250: clean or replace the quartz sleeve every 3 to 6 months, depending on water quality.
- Keep the water within Davey's limits: hardness 120 mg/L, iron 0.3 mg/L, manganese 0.05 mg/L, tannins 0.1 mg/L, turbidity 1 NTU, UVT above 75%.

Davey Microlene UV units are UV-only chambers for rural and tank water. They treat water without chemicals or changing its taste.
At the 30 mJ/cm² dose, the UV24 is rated at 23 L/min, the UV57 at 57 L/min, the UV80 at 79 L/min and the UV151 at 151 L/min. The UV250 is the largest, at 208 L/min with two lamps, 2" BSP ports and a 230–240 V supply. The UV24 to UV151 alarm when the lamp is due; the UV250 alarms if a lamp fails.
We recommend two-stage pre-filtration down to 1 micron ahead of the UV. Replace the lamp yearly, cleaning the quartz sleeve each time (UV250: every 3–6 months, depending on water quality). Manufacturer's warranty: 10 years on the chamber, 3 years on the electronics and 1 year on lamps and sleeves.
