How often to replace

Replace cartridges every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. The carbon block is the most important one to stay on top of — when it's exhausted, chlorine taste and odour will return even if flow is still good. That's the clearest sign it's time for a full kit change.

Which kit do I need?

Select your Essence system model from the dropdown. The kit contains the correct cartridges for every stage in your system, in the right size. If you're not sure which model you have, check the label on your filter housing bracket or get in touch.

Can I replace the cartridges myself?

Yes — filter changes on the Essence range use standard 10" or 20" jumbo housings with the included housing spanner. Shut off the water, unscrew the housing, swap the cartridge, and reinstall. No special tools needed.

How do I know when the carbon block needs replacing?

The clearest sign is chlorine taste or odour returning to your water — even if flow rate is still good. The carbon is consumed over time as it adsorbs compounds from your water. When it's exhausted, taste returns. Don't wait for pressure drop alone.

Do all the cartridges need replacing at the same time?

We recommend replacing all cartridges at the same time so you're starting fresh across all stages. The sediment filter may load faster than the carbon block in high-sediment water — if pressure drops before your scheduled change, replace it early rather than waiting for the full kit interval.

What warranty applies to the cartridges?

Filter cartridges are consumables and don't carry a standard product warranty. If you receive a cartridge that is visibly damaged or defective on arrival, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
