Davey Microlene MSQCUBS — Underbench Water Purifier for Rainwater

Better-tasting drinking water at your kitchen tap — without filtering the whole house.

The Davey Microlene MSQCUBS is a 2-stage underbench purifier designed specifically for rainwater and tank water supplies. It filters sediment down to 1 micron, removes taste and odour, and has been independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts — without a whole-house system.

This is a point-of-use system. It treats drinking water at your kitchen tap, not your entire home supply. If you want filtered water at every tap including showers and laundry, a whole-house system is the right choice. If you want cleaner drinking and cooking water from your kitchen tap — without paying to filter water that goes to the toilet, garden, or shower — this is it.

The kit includes the purifier, a dedicated drinking water faucet, and the installation kit with tubing. The purifier uses Quick Connect — when it's time to replace, the cartridge twists out and clicks back in with no tools required.

Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

How It Works

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the right system for my home?

If you're on rainwater or tank water and want cleaner, better-tasting drinking water at your kitchen tap, yes. The MSQCUBS is a point-of-use system — it treats water at one tap, not your whole house. That means you're not paying to filter water that goes to the toilet, garden, or shower. If you want filtered water at every tap, get in touch and we'll recommend the right whole-house system for your supply.

Does it need to be installed by a plumber?

For anyone confident with this style of plumbing, the install is straightforward — the system arrives assembled and connects to your cold-water supply under the sink using the included tubing and fittings. The faucet will require a hole in the benchtop or sink. If you'd prefer to have it done, a plumber can fit it quickly. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.

How does the Quick Connect system work?

When the purifier reaches the end of its service life, the cartridge twists out and clicks in with no tools. No housing spanner, no mess.

How long does the purifier last?

2 years or 10,000 litres — whichever comes first. This is the Standard purifier, which is recommended for rainwater supplies.

What does the purifier reduce?

Can I use this with mains water?

The MSQCUBS Standard purifier is formulated for rainwater and tank water. For mains water, the MPQCUBS Premium purifier is the recommended option — it includes additional media for heavy metal reduction and has a longer service life of 3 years or 30,000 litres.
