The Davey DC10 is a compact submersible dewatering pump for light domestic applications — emptying sumps, emergency flood relief, water features, fountains, and general water transfer. The double case design channels discharge flow past the internal motor shell, allowing the pump to operate in partially submerged installations and keeping the motor cool during extended use.
The silicon carbide/ceramic mechanical shaft seal sits in a captive oil bath for added motor protection and long service life. A sand slinger lip seal provides additional protection. Automatic resetting thermal overload is built in.
Available in two variants — automatic (DC10A) with a preset float switch for unattended operation, or manual (DC10M) for manually controlled applications. Select from the dropdown.
Note: not suitable for fish ponds or aquaculture. Do not lower or retrieve the pump using the power lead — use a rope.
Important: do not use this pump for recirculating or filtering swimming pools or spas where people are in the water while the pump is operating.

Choosing your variant
DC10A — automatic
Equipped with a preset float switch. The pump starts automatically when the water level rises and stops when it drops to the safe operating level. Suited to unattended sump drainage and flood relief. Make sure the float switch has room to rise and fall freely — restricted movement prevents correct operation.
DC10M — manual
No float switch. Starts and stops on demand. Must be switched off manually — or via an external float or level switch — when the water level drops to the top of the pump housing.

FAQ
What's the difference between the DC10A and DC10M?
The DC10A has a preset float switch — it starts and stops automatically based on water level. The DC10M has no float switch and must be operated manually or with an external level control. Choose the A model for unattended sump drainage; choose the M model where you want direct control.
What does IP X8 mean?
It means the pump is rated for continuous full submersion — not just splash-resistant. X8 is suitable for submersible applications down to the rated depth.
Can I use it for a fish pond?
No — the DC10 is not suitable for fish ponds or aquaculture.
Can I use it in a swimming pool?
Not for recirculating or filtering pools or spas where people are in the water while the pump is operating. It is not approved for that use.
How do I retrieve it from a sump?
Always use a rope to lower and retrieve the pump. Never use the power lead — this can damage the cable entry seals, causing water leaks and unsafe operation.
What fluids can it handle?
Clean water of neutral pH containing up to 10% small soft organic solids under 4mm outside diameter. Abrasive materials like sand and grit will accelerate wear and shorten pump life.
What warranty applies?
2-year guarantee backed by Davey's NZ dealer network.
