Davey Microlene Polyspun Sediment Filter — 10" Standard
Fine sediment filtration for 10" Standard housings — certified to WaterMark and AS/NZS 4020.
The Davey Microlene polyspun melt cartridge removes sediment from your water supply across three micron ratings — 1, 5, and 20 micron. Made entirely from food-grade polypropylene with no gaskets, binders, fillers, loose fibres, or surfactants. Thermally bonded fibres are less likely to shift with changes in flow or pressure, and do not release contaminants downstream. Exceptionally clean — meets regulatory guidelines for drinking water, food, and pharmaceutical use.
Unlike pleated cartridges, polyspun is a depth filter — particles are trapped throughout the fibre matrix. It is not cleanable or reusable. Replace when flow drops noticeably, or at least every 12 months.
Fits most 10" Standard housings — including Pentair, Puretec, Trevoli, and most other major brands.
⚠ Standard housings take a 2.5" diameter cartridge. If your cartridge is 4.5" in diameter, you need the Jumbo size — this one will not fit.
Choose Your Micron Rating
20 Micron — Medium-Coarse
Removes larger fine particles and sediment. A good first-stage filter on cleaner supplies or a pre-filter ahead of finer stages.
Flow rate: 34 LPM | Model: 20PS10
5 Micron — Medium-Fine
Removes finer sediment. Suited to second-stage filtration or first-stage on cleaner mains supplies. Loads faster than 20 micron — expect shorter service intervals on dirty supplies.
Flow rate: 28 LPM | Model: 5PS10
1 Micron — Fine
Removes very fine particles. The 1 micron cartridge has a Cryptosporidium cyst removal rating of more than 99%. Required upstream of UV systems treating rainwater or tank water where cysts may be present. Loads fastest — replace more frequently on dirty supplies.
Flow rate: 27 LPM | Model: 1PS10

Frequently Asked Questions
Which micron rating should I choose?
Choose 20 micron for a coarse first-stage sediment filter on cleaner supplies. Choose 5 micron for finer sediment removal or as a second-stage filter. Choose 1 micron where cyst protection is required — Giardia and Cryptosporidium — or as the final filtration stage before UV disinfection. Lower micron ratings filter finer but clog faster, especially on dirty supplies.
Will it fit my housing?
Before ordering, measure the diameter of the cartridge you're replacing. Standard = 2.5". Jumbo = 4.5". These are not interchangeable — a Standard cartridge will not seat correctly in a Jumbo housing. This cartridge fits most 10" Standard (2.5") housings including Pentair, Puretec, Trevoli, and most other major brands. If you're unsure, get in touch before ordering.
Can I clean and reuse this cartridge?
No. Polyspun is a depth filter — particles are trapped throughout the fibre matrix and cannot be effectively cleaned. Replace when flow drops noticeably, or at least every 12 months.
How is this different from the pleated version?
The pleated cartridge has a folded polyester membrane that filters on the surface — it can be cleaned and reused. The polyspun cartridge traps particles throughout the fibre matrix — it cannot be cleaned and is replace-only. Polyspun is made entirely from food-grade polypropylene with no binders or fillers, making it exceptionally clean for drinking water applications. It also handles higher temperatures — up to 63°C vs 52°C for the pleated version.
What do the certifications mean?
WaterMark WMTS-103 (Lic. 22987) means the cartridge has been independently tested and certified against Australian and New Zealand water industry standards. AS/NZS 4020 means it has been tested and confirmed safe for use in contact with drinking water.
Does the 1 micron cartridge protect against bacteria?
No. The 1 micron cartridge has a Cryptosporidium cyst removal rating of more than 99%, but does not remove or inactivate bacteria or viruses. UV disinfection is required for bacteria and virus protection.
What warranty applies?
Filter cartridges are consumable items. If you receive a cartridge that appears damaged or defective on arrival, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
