The Davey Microlene MSP is a premium inline replacement cartridge for underbench push-fit filter systems on rainwater, tank, and rural water supplies. It uses a two-stage filtration process — first to 10 microns, then to 1 micron — with activated carbon to reduce taste and odour, sediment, cysts, and a wide range of contaminants common in tank and rainwater supplies.
Independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts. Complies with AS/NZS 4348:1995.
Connects via 1/4" John Guest push-fit tube connections — the same quick-connect fittings used by most underbench inline systems. Replacement takes a few minutes and requires no tools.
Sold as a single cartridge.

Questions
How is the MSP different from the MPP Urban filter?
Both use the same two-stage 1 micron filtration process. The MSP is formulated for rainwater, tank, and rural supplies — where sediment loads and contaminant profiles differ from mains water. The MPP (Urban) includes a KDF media layer for heavy metal reduction and has a longer service life of 3 years/30,000 litres. If you're on town supply, the MPP is the better fit.
How do I know when to replace it?
Replace at 2 years or 20,000 litres — whichever comes first. If taste or odour returns before that point, replace earlier.
Will it fit my system?
The MSP uses 1/4" John Guest push-fit tube connections and is designed for inline underbench systems. If your existing system uses 1/4" push-fit fittings, this cartridge is a direct replacement. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll confirm fit before you order.
Is it suitable for mains (town) water?
It will work on mains water, but the MPP Urban cartridge is the better choice for mains supply — it includes KDF media for heavy metal reduction and lasts up to 3 years.
Does it remove Cryptosporidium and Giardia?
Yes. The MSP has been independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts. It complies with AS/NZS 4348:1995.
What does AS/NZS 4348:1995 mean?
AS/NZS 4348:1995 is the Australian/New Zealand standard for domestic water treatment appliances. Compliance means the product has been independently tested against this standard.
Do I need a plumber to replace it?
No. Replacing the MSP is straightforward — turn off the water, hold the collet, pull the tube out, and push the new cartridge in. Full instructions are included.
