Rainwater is a great resource — but what comes off a roof isn't always clean. Dust, leaves, fine silt, and organic matter all find their way into your tank. The Waiora Clarity Plus I catches the coarser particles before they reach your taps.
This is a single-stage whole house system designed for larger New Zealand homes and properties on rainwater or tank water. A 20 micron pleated filter removes dirt, debris, and organic matter from your tank water, protecting your appliances and fittings from sediment build-up. The 20 inch jumbo housing delivers higher flow capacity and longer cartridge life than the 10 inch equivalent — the right choice for larger homes and higher-demand supplies.
The housing arrives pre-mounted on a powder-coated bracket, ready to go on the wall. Connection is standard 25mm BSP. Filter changes are DIY-friendly with the included housing spanner.
Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

How it works
The 20 micron pleated filter catches coarser particles first — dirt, debris, leaves, and organic matter that collect in your tank. Pleated construction gives a large surface area for high dirt-holding capacity and better flow than a polyspun filter at the same micron rating. The 20 inch format provides greater capacity and extends cartridge life compared to a 10 inch system under the same conditions.
If you also want to remove fine silt and particles, the Waiora Clarity Plus II adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage downstream. For drinking water treatment, a UV system downstream is the recommended next step. Get in touch if you're unsure which setup suits your supply.

FAQ
Is the Waiora Clarity Plus I right for my home?
It's designed for larger New Zealand homes and properties on rainwater or tank water where coarse sediment removal is the priority. If you have a smaller home or lighter usage, the Waiora Clarity I with a 10 inch housing covers the same job in a more compact format. If you also want to remove fine silt, the Waiora Clarity Plus II adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage.
Does the Clarity Plus I make rainwater safe to drink?
The Clarity Plus I removes coarse sediment and particulates. It does not treat bacteria or other micro-organisms. If you want to treat your rainwater for drinking, a UV system added downstream is the recommended next step. Get in touch and we can help you put together the right setup.
What's the difference between the Clarity Plus I and Clarity Plus II?
The Clarity Plus II adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage downstream of the 20 micron pleated filter. This two-stage approach is more effective for tank water with fine silt and clay particles. If your water is relatively clear with only coarser debris, the Clarity Plus I is sufficient.
What's the difference between the Clarity I and Clarity Plus I?
Both are single-stage 20 micron pleated sediment systems. The Clarity Plus I uses a 20 inch jumbo housing — higher flow capacity and longer cartridge life between changes. It's the better choice for larger households with higher water demand.
Does it need to be installed before or after my pump?
Install it on the outlet side of your pump — after the pump, before the rest of the house. This protects your appliances and fittings downstream. If you need pre-pump protection, get in touch and we can advise on the right setup.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path and protects your warranty on the plumbing side. That said, the Clarity Plus I arrives fully assembled, uses standard 25mm BSP fittings, and mounts with the included hardware. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation is straightforward. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.
How often do I replace the cartridge?
Every 6–12 months, depending on how much sediment is in your water. Tank water with higher silt loads will shorten cartridge life. The 20 inch format typically extends cartridge life compared to a 10 inch system under the same conditions. Check the filter — if it's visibly loaded with debris, it's time.
Do I need bypass valves?
They're not included, but they're worth adding. Bypass valves let you isolate the filter during cartridge changes without shutting off water to the rest of the house. Ask us about adding a set when you order.
What warranty does it come with?
3 years.
