Looking after the UV
- Clean the quartz sleeve whenever the UV lamp is inspected.
- Replace the UV lamp every 12 months.
- UV needs clear water. The filter stages before it remove the sediment that would block the UV light.

Common questions
What does the Shield add?
The Pure III Shield has the same filtration, UV treatment and flow rate as the Pure III. It adds a protective cover and two pressure gauges, so it suits indoor and outdoor installation.
What do the pressure gauges show?
They show the water pressure in the system.
What does flow-activated UV do?
The lamp only switches on when water is flowing. That lowers power use, extends lamp life and stops water warming in the chamber.
Does UV change the taste of the water?
No. UV treats the water without adding chemicals or changing its taste. The carbon block is what helps with taste and odour.
How often do I change the cartridges and the lamp?
Every 12 months. The service kit has the cartridges and the UV lamp, so you change them together. Clean the quartz sleeve at each lamp change.

The Waiora Pure III Shield by Waimana filters water in three stages, then runs it through a 33W UV chamber. It's the Waiora Pure III with a protective cover and two pressure gauges added. Filters, UV and flow are unchanged. Rated 30 L/min, which suits medium-size households.
The stages are a 1 µm polyspun sediment cartridge, a 20 µm polypleated cartridge and a 5 µm carbon block, all 10". UV dose is 30 mJ/cm², and a flow switch stops the UV when no water flows. Ports are 1" (25 mm) BSP, maximum pressure 8 bar (116 psi), supply 240 V.
Change the cartridges and the lamp every 12 months, cleaning the quartz sleeve at each lamp change. 3-year manufacturer's warranty on the UV chamber, housings and workmanship.
