Enjoy cleaner, fresher-tasting water throughout your home with the Aquano Klarify M-310.
Designed for small to medium New Zealand homes connected to a mains water supply, this three-stage whole-house filtration system reduces sediment, chlorine, unwanted chemicals, pesticides, unpleasant tastes and odours before the water reaches your taps, showers and appliances. Its three 10-inch Jumbo housings and maximum flow rate of 70 litres per minute provide whole-home filtration without limiting treatment to a single drinking-water tap.
The M-310 arrives pre-assembled and includes three replaceable filter cartridges, pressure gauges, a pressure relief valve, housing spanners and neoprene weather-protection covers. Durable anti-corrosion metal construction and reversible installation capability help make the system practical to install, monitor and service.
Why Choose the Aquano Klarify M-310?
Filter Water Throughout the Whole Home
Installed at the point where the mains supply enters the property, the M-310 treats water before it is distributed around the house. This means the benefits extend beyond drinking water to kitchen taps, bathroom taps, showers and water-using appliances.
Three Dedicated Filtration Stages
Rather than relying on one cartridge to handle every water-quality issue, the M-310 uses three separate filtration stages to progressively reduce sediment, chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, taste and odour.
Designed for Small to Medium Homes
The system uses three 10-inch Jumbo housings and has a stated maximum flow rate of 70 L/min, making it suitable for small to medium homes where multiple outlets may be used.
Easier Performance Monitoring
Three pressure gauges provide a visible way to monitor pressure through the system. A growing pressure difference can help indicate that one or more cartridges are becoming restricted and may require attention.
Suitable for Indoor or Outdoor Installation
The M-310 may be installed indoors or outdoors. For outdoor installations, the supplied neoprene covers must be fitted to help protect the housings from frost, direct sunlight and water exposure. The system must also be protected from freezing.
Supplied Ready for Installation
The complete unit arrives pre-assembled and includes the filter cartridges, housing spanners and weather-protection covers required for installation and routine servicing.
How It Works
Water passes through three filtration stages before entering the home’s plumbing system.
Stage 1: Sediment Filtration
The first polyspun sediment cartridge captures dirt, rust, silt, sand and other suspended particles. Removing this material first also helps protect the carbon filtration stages that follow.
Stage 2: Dual Radial-Flow Filtration
The second cartridge provides further particle filtration while helping reduce chlorine and unwanted chemicals. This intermediate stage prepares the water for final carbon polishing.
Stage 3: Granular Activated Carbon Filtration
The final granular activated carbon cartridge is designed to reduce chlorine and improve unwanted taste and odour before the filtered water is distributed throughout the home.
Best Suited For
The Aquano Klarify M-310 is best suited to:
- Small to medium homes
- Properties connected to a mains or municipal water supply
- Households concerned about sediment, chlorine, taste or odour
- Homes wanting filtration from more than one tap
- Indoor installations
- Appropriately protected outdoor installations
- Households wanting a compact, serviceable whole-house filtration system
This system is intended for mains water filtration. It must not be used with microbiologically unsafe water, or water of unknown quality, unless appropriate disinfection is installed.

Installation
Installation must be completed by a licensed plumber and comply with applicable New Zealand plumbing requirements. The unit is installed on the cold-water supply at the point of entry so water is filtered before being distributed around the home.
Installation requirements include:
- Mounting the unit securely to a solid surface
- Installing the system where leaks or spills will not cause damage
- Providing adequate clearance beneath the housings for cartridge removal
- Installing an upstream isolation valve for servicing
- Supporting connected pipework so its weight does not stress the system
- Protecting the unit from water hammer
- Using unions to simplify future servicing
- Using approved piping, fittings and thread sealants
- Installing an approved pressure-limiting valve where line pressure exceeds 500 kPa
- Installing an approved dual-check backflow-prevention device for point-of-entry installations
- Protecting the system from freezing
- Using the supplied neoprene covers when installed outdoors
- Avoiding overtightening, which may damage the filter head
Allow sufficient room around and beneath the system so each housing can be removed without dismantling the surrounding plumbing.
Maintenance
Aquano recommends replacing the filter cartridges every 6–12 months. Actual cartridge life will depend on incoming water quality, household usage and the amount of sediment being collected.
During servicing:
- Shut off the incoming water supply.
- Open a downstream tap.
- Press the red pressure-release buttons to depressurise the system.
- Remove each housing using the supplied spanner if required.
- Remove and discard the used cartridges.
- Clean the housings.
- Inspect the O-rings and replace any that are damaged.
- Lubricate suitable O-rings with food-grade silicone.
- Fit the new cartridges centrally and in the correct orientation.
- Refit the housings without overtightening.
- Restore the water supply slowly.
- Open a downstream tap to purge trapped air.
- Flush the system for 2–10 minutes.
- Check all joints and housings for leaks.
The pressure gauges should also be checked periodically. A noticeable pressure drop through the system may indicate that one or more cartridges are becoming restricted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the M-310 filter water throughout the entire house?
Yes. It is a point-of-entry filtration system installed on the incoming mains supply, allowing filtered water to be delivered to outlets throughout the home.
Is the M-310 suitable for a large household?
Aquano describes the M-310 as suitable for small to medium homes. It uses 10-inch Jumbo housings and has a stated maximum flow rate of 70 L/min. Homes with higher simultaneous water demand may require a larger-capacity system.
Does it reduce chlorine?
Yes. The radial-flow and granular activated carbon stages are designed to reduce chlorine and improve unwanted taste and odour.
What sediment does it remove?
The sediment stage is designed to capture suspended material such as dirt, rust, silt and sand.
What is the filtration rating?
The system is specified for sediment reduction down to 5 microns.
Does the system remove bacteria and viruses?
The M-310 is a cartridge filtration system and is not presented as a microbiological disinfection system. Do not use it with microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without suitable disinfection.
Can it be installed outside?
Yes, provided the supplied neoprene covers are fitted to protect the housings from frost, direct sunlight and water exposure. The system must also be protected from freezing.
How often should the cartridges be replaced?
Aquano recommends cartridge replacement every 6–12 months. Incoming water quality and household water use may require earlier replacement.
Does it require a plumber?
Yes. Installation must be completed by a licensed plumber and comply with local plumbing regulations.
What happens if the household water pressure exceeds 500 kPa?
An approved pressure-limiting valve is required where line pressure exceeds 500 kPa.
Are the cartridges replaceable?
Yes. All three cartridges are replaceable, and the supplied housing spanners assist with routine servicing.
